About Us

A magical experience on an island in the middle of the St. Lawrence!

Welcome to Auberge La Coudrière (Cool Hotel)

Our hotel is located on an island in the middle of the St. Lawrence, in the heart of the Charlevoix region which is the No.1 destination in Quebec, Canada. Isle-aux-Coudres is to this day a well-kept secret. Told by the famous filmmaker Pierre Perrault through his trilogy on its inhabitants, the fabulous Isle-aux-Coudres is full of history.

It was discovered in 1535 by Jacques Cartier. Its name comes from the hazelnut trees which were in great number on the Island, at that time they bore the name of coudriers.

Our magnificent hotel was built on top of a cliff by Cléophas Dufour and his family during the 1970s.

The architecture is of Norman inspiration. Our 49 room and chalet units offer you a unique experience.

A panoramic view of the beauty of the island, the sea and the mountains of the Charlevoix region. Our hotel also offers a restaurant with fine local cuisine, a summer theater, our children's paradise and a heated swimming pool. The friendliness of the islanders as well as the traditional Franco-Quebecois dance and music will charm you.

Come, you will stay with us and discover our Franco-Quebecois cultural secret for an unforgettable visit!

Our rooms and chalets have breathtaking views of the sea, the mountains, the gardens or the swimming pool!
